September 2008

Hi guys!

Isn’t it sometimes scary, how fast time goes by… autumn is finally here, the days are shorter and I’m facing more and more work. This month was so full of appointments, that I got confused with the days at times and bang… it was the end of September like nothing.

Especially exciting were the rehearsals for my recall-video for YoumeU standen. Me and my dancers prepared for a really cool show and in a couple of days we are finally shooting it in Berlin. I am really looking forward to it, not only the performance but also meeting Collien. It’s gonna be so cool…

Next to that us 10 recall-contestans of YoumeU were invited to an event at the Red-Bull-Hangar in Salzburg, Austria. It’s was just incredible. Actually the commericals for Pro 7 were done here. What a cool location.

Being the Formula-1-freak I am, it was heaven for me seeing all the cars that are there, next to all the planes and ralley-cars, of course. And so, one of my biggest dreams became reality. The security-guys allowed me to take seat in David Coulthards car of last season to take a couple of pics. Wow, that was an undescribable feeling. Even if my legs were too short to hit the gas, it was a very speacial moment for me. Hopefully one day I get the chance to do a formula-1-workshop or drive in the McLaren twincar. Well, Ron Dennis, Norbert Haug or whomever is reading: Give me a call ;-)

Did you guys watch the last two races in Monza and especially the worlds first ever night-racebesonders in Singapur. Germany’s most promising drivers after Michael Schumacher are turning it up at last. Unbealievable!!! I mean the first place of Sebastian Vettel in his not really made to win Torro Rosso was really a doozie. He’s gonna be big in the future. No doubt about that.

However I was even more happy about Nico Rosberg finishing secong in Singapur. Especially since it didn’t really look good for him after the safty-car-phase and the stop-and-go penalty for the pit stop during safty-car. I loved his will to fight. To be honest I think he’s one of the most personable drivers there is. At least, that’s the impression I get of him in interviews and so on. His answer are not so much of a been-there-done-that-attitude nor sound like standard-phrases. He’s not mincing words and that’s really something I love about him. I hope there are more successful races ahead for him and who knows, maybe he will be picked up by one of the top-teams and races for the worldcup one day. He sure has the heart and talent!

With only a few races ahead I guess Lewis Hamilton will make it this season winning the worldcup, but you never know, it was a close call last year too. Being a Ferrari-fan I have to keep my fingers crossed for Felipe Massa. Hopefully his crew will not screw up again and lose it for him. He truly deserves it. He proved his team-player-qualities and it’s about time for him, I think…

Well, and now the “Awards” for September:

Butthead of the month - Sorry, Ferrari-Crew… I really love you a lot, but your “show” in Singapur with the lollipop respectively fuel hose was embarrassing… My advice: Technology is just not everything. Just let a person do the job and trust me, refueling might be easy again ;-)

Self chuck of the month – My lack of sense of time got into my way once again. I planned to get a ten-minute-rest in Salzburg, before heading off to the recall-event. The day had started really early and was a bit exhausting. these 10 minutes turned out to be 30 and therefore I showed up a bit too late at the hotel-lobby and the shuttle that was supposed to take us to the Red-Bull-hangar had already left with everyone else. Great… I had to call a cap. The driver was really nice, but for some reason I really have problems with accents. And sure enough once more I had my big entrance when showingup at the venue ;-)

Person of the month – Hm, it’s a tie on this one and therefore I give this one out to the Schumacher-heirs: Sebastian Vettel und Nico Rosberg. Knock them out and may all other drivers (with some exceptions) be overtaken by their own back-tires. Well, just in case, I’ve got an alibi. I wasn’t at the track, never ever!
