Nǐ hǎo!

Like with most people on this planet this month was all about the Olympic Games in Bejing!

Wasn’t it spectacular… As you might now I was part of the opening ceremony as a dancer at the games in Atlanta and therefore the ceremony give me chills every time. I guess only the ones participating can really relate to that. The feeling to be there in the stadium among so many people and being a part of it is an experience of a lifetime. Even though I was just one of several hundrets, I don’t think I will ever forget these few hours in my life.

Just walking in at the opening has to be amazing for the athlets. Just imagine winning a medal. Has to be the biggest thing on earth for the sportsmen. I wonder how Michael Phelps (USA) felt, winning an unbelieveable eight gold medals. I mean is this guy out of this world? Swims a heat almost everyday and the same day he breaks a world-record like nothing. He didn’t even see to be exhausted or short of breath just once.

Or Usain Bolt (Jamaika), who won gold at 100 m & 200 m track… He even had time entertaining the crowd the last 20 m of his run. He let his competitors look pretty pale, didn’t he? Without words.

Although doping is being talked about again. I don’t really think it will ever be banned in elite sport. I just hope that these exceptional talents deserve their success thanks to their effort and not because of some stimulators. It was be aweful watching more kinds of sports ending up like cycling. I can’t really take that serious anymore. Really sad.

Well ok, this little incedent with Jan Ulrich amused me at least a little. You know: “… I thought these pills were painkillers.” yeah right, dear Jan, if a stranger offers me some coloful pills in a club, I take that for granted that these won’t do any harm. How stupid can a person be.

Anyway, before anyone starts dicussing wether or not it was right bringing the games to China… I think the Olympic games are about the athlets and their merits. They prepared themselves very hard for it and deserve to be hailed as in an appropriate way. No matter where it takes place!

Therefore my “awards” this month go to:

Butthead of the month – This one goes out to the ones that have been excluded or had to give back their medals ‘cos of doping in the past, present or in the future! Period!!!

Self chuck of the month – Habt Did anyone of you ever try to adjust a satellite-dish without any help because there was some “snow” on the screen the day your favourite movie is aired on cable? Listen to me and leave it like it is… I spent the evening reading a great book. Where are all the gentlemen when you need them?

Person of the month – Michael Phelps. He was the man of the games and therefore I wanna award him this month too. Hope he accepts it next to his eight gold-medals and seven world-records. Particularly since he had ADS when he was younger and won for his sister, ‘cos she didn’t qualify for the olympics in Atlanta, although she should have been in the team.
